Original Music

Jonesy has been singing/playing guitar for years. From originals to parody, one thing is clear: comedic songs are his specialty.  He recently taught himself video editing and now we finally have some visuals to go along with the crazy lyrics. He’s no Spike Jonze but I think you will still enjoy the following music videos.

Pepperspray

Pepperspray is a Red Hot Chili Pepper tribute band in which Jonesy is the lead singer. He was upset when he recently found out he got the front man position, not because of his rock star stage presence and vocal ability, but because he looks eerily similar to RHCP vocalist Anthony Kedis. Pepperspray has performed at New York City venues such as the National Underground, Sullivan Hall, Kenny’s Castaways, Connolly’s, Cabin Fever, and multiple private parties.

Songs in the Key of Cheese

Songs in the Key of Cheese may be the most ludicrous idea comedians Jonesy and Brett Anderson have ever come up with.  One night at a drunken rooftop party on the Upper West Side, Jonesy put down his  Zima, grabbed an acoustic guitar and he and Brett spontaneously broke out into the timeless ballad, Glory of Love by Peter Cetera. The response was mixed but leaned toward tremendous (and not just because it was mostly gay guys at that party) and Songs in the Key of Cheese was born. The acoustic comedy duo has since crooned cheesey 80’s love ballads at numerous NYC live venues and private parties. For booking contact cheese@funnyjones.com, for song list click here.
