Benefit for Mario Lucca a Success

Over Thanksgiving I had a great experience. I produced and performed standup comedy on a benefit show for a childhood friend that is battling cancer. Mario Lucca and I attended Haverhill High School together back in the 90′s and there many of our former classmates at this event along with our families. My younger brother brought over 20 of his own friends to the event. The fact that he did it with his cell phone shut off makes it an astounding feat. The proudest moment of the night for me was when the mayor of Haverhill, Jim Fiorentini, showed up with his checkbook. The show’s web campaign brought in more money in donations from those that couldn’t make it. I found out yesterday that Mario’s sister Jaclyn, who shaved her head for Mario, was featured on the Charlottesville news website as a hero. Read her story HERE. Upcoming Shows for December 2012

Two very important shows I’m producing are coming up. One is a variety show I’m working with comedian Corinne Fisher at Jimmy’s No. 43 Stage in the East Village. The date is December 11th at 9pm and we have 3 musical acts, 3 comedians and 2 sketch artists drawing the performers as they do their thing.

The other show is something totally new and strange. It’s a show called Psychedelic Stories: Tales of Trips Past. This is taking place at The People’s Improv Theater and it’s a storytelling show where comedians share funny stories of past experiences they had on psychedelic substances. That show will feature myself, comedian Mike Finoia, comedian Jon Marin and Jon Talat Philips, author of The Electric Jesus and cofounder of the popular counter-culture website Evolver.net. Throwback Love Music Video

I had the pleasure of being in recording artist Vickie Natale‘s music video for her new track, Throwback Love. The shoot took place in the beautiful town of Rye, New York and was directed by Dave Veslocki. The vintage look was achieved with help from the many authentic antique cars, one of which was leant to us by the fella that invented Sobe drinks. Personally, I achieved the old school look by applying an entire bucket of hair jell.

Making Mr. Right

A web pilot I starred in called Making Mr. Right has advanced to the semi-finals of the NexTV Writing and Pitch Competition. Making Mr. Right is a satirical portrayal of shitty reality tv dating shows like The Bachelor. It was produced by Walleye Pictures of Brooklyn and conceived and written by New York City comedian/writer Dave Siegel. Please enjoy the teaser below and fingers crossed! With some funding this project can move on to the shooting phase.

Fantasy Football DraftHOLES web series

I’ve been producing fantasy sports comedy content for the Fantasy Alarm fantasy sports website and for their radio show on Fantasy Alarm Show Sirius XM Radio. Of all the projects I do for them I can’t help but excited about anything that has to do with video. And it seems like we have a lot of our viral success through web video. *See the Moves Like Welker video has surpassed 300K views on Youtube below.

Recently, I produced a short web series for them to celebrate the upcoming 2013 NFL Fantasy Football season. Fantasy Football DraftHOLES are comedy shorts that centers around a bunch of total assholes at their fantasy football draft. When all is said and done there will be over a dozen of these short vids but here’s a couple to wet your appetite for fantasy comedy. I wrote and directed these. The cast includes a number of my comedic talent buddies such as Josh Hyman, Narinder Singh, Adam Shuty, Erik Braunstein, Camille Theobald, Kevin Bayes, Dan Wurfel, Dan Hirshon, etc.

Jonesy Interviews Moody Mccarthy (Letterman Show)

I got to interview comedian Moody Mccarthy about his recent appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman. Moody tells how getting on the show for him was an eight year process and how he got bumped from the show his first time. It’s an interesting window into one comic’s experience with a primetime network television appearance and I found it interesting and educational. Moody ends the interview by talking about the worst hell gig comedy show of his life.

I did the voice of this US Olympic long distance runner Ryan Hall in this AT&T/Olympic Games commercial. It’s strange that they would cast a voice over actor for this. Apparently Mr. Hall’s voice is terrible! hahaha. Just kidding. I really don’t know the reason but I’m glad they did because this is gonna pay the bills for a bit
